Building Solar Power For BRC and Beyond

In a project called "BLACK ROCK SOLAR"  BWB, DPW and others have combined high rebates from the Sierra Pacific power utility company in Nevada,  bulk purchasing ( which lowers costs ) and loaned money from a renewable energy company called MMA Renewable Ventures, and volunteer labor, to be able to build and give away hundreds of kilowatts of low or no cost solar power in poor rural communities in Nevada.

It's an amazing, unprecedented project--over the next 20 years, the power we build for the Gerlach School alone will be worth $650,000. And it will cost them nothing.   People have talked for a long time about "the gift economy" and "taking our values off the playa and into the real world." Well, this is it, and it's your chance to be help!
